Blake McKelvy is a Senior Manager with Capital Edge Consulting, and has over 5 years of experience providing professional support to government contractors. His areas of expertise include: Financial models (especially those utilized for Budgeting and Estimating purposes), Indirect Cost Rate structures, Forward Pricing Rate packages, Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS), cost impact analysis’, Termination analysis’, Business Systems compliance reviews, 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance, DCAA Audit support and preparation, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) compliance and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) compliance.
Blake has provided full contract lifecycle support services to government contractors and grantees of various size and industry focus, in the areas of accounting, contracts, compliance and training. He has provided advisory services to government contractors through the various stages of proposal preparation, contract specific and company-wide financial management, ongoing compliance, audit support and contract closeout. He has assisted in both the development of and detailed reviews of contractor policies, procedures and practices for compliance with UG, FAR, CAS, and DCAA internal controls.
Blake excels in financial modeling, extensive analysis of complex data sets and complicated forensic analysis. He has implemented numerous improvements to various clients’ financial models through simplification and automation. He has successfully navigated and analyzed data sets containing millions of line items worth billions of dollars. He has performed granular analysis delivering big picture results for both retrospective and prospective issues at hand.
Prior to joining Capital Edge in 2013, Blake spent time in accounting and finance staffing, specializing in customer relations with government contractors. In this position, he was exposed to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and developed a passion for working with government contractors.
